MLCKeymasterHello Monica, this is a Cold Spring Granite font named Monument Times New Roman. It also appears that the plotter of whoever cut this stencil may have been malfunctioning, as the characters have been a bit mangled and lack their usual crispness.
If you would like help matching it, feel free to use the MLC Inscription Matching Service.
MLCKeymasterHello, unfortunately identifying the lettering on bronze markers is notoriously difficult. During the first part of the 20th century each foundry created their own alphabets, so you will not find digital fonts available for matching most of the various Classic or Condensed Roman lettering styles. Many of the smaller foundries have either closed down or been sold to other larger foundries, and over time many of the alphabets have been lost or no longer used.
I’m unaware of anything terribly similar to this style, but I’m sure if you do some searching you might find some funky romanesque style fonts with a similar ‘R’ out there. Happy hunting!
MLCKeymasterI’m unsure of the exact digital version of Modified Roman, but it’s been manually condensed.
MLCKeymasterThis is a Gerber font named Casualee Cursive Connected.
MLCKeymasterThis is a font named Caxton.
MLCKeymasterHi Brian, this is a font named Albertus.
MLCKeymasterHello, I’m not sure I’ve ever run into this before. It does look like it is probably a font and not hand-drawn due to the consistency of the letters.
The closest font I am aware of is Amerigo BT, which shares many of the same features.
MLCKeymasterHello, this is a font in the Monu-Cad software called European. It is based on an old stencil press alphabet designed by a German company named Scheibenbogen.

MLCKeymasterHi Randy, this appears to be a custom hand-drawn Old English. I have seen some similar hand-drawn styles in Wisconsin, but nothing available as a digital font.
MLCKeymasterHello, thanks for contributing. This is a print industry font named Aquitaine Initials, but it has had the inside lines removed.
MLCKeymasterHello, this is the PALL Canada plastic stencil press version of the Modified Roman alphabet. This is most easily identified by the serif on the numeral 2 being entirely vertical.
MLCKeymasterHi Karen, this is a font in the Monu-Cad software called European. It is based on an old stencil press alphabet designed by a German company named Scheibenbogen.
MLCKeymasterHello, this is Jenson Medium in Gerber.
MLCKeymasterUm, wow. Someone had fun while hand-cutting the Spacerite Modified Roman letters in the sandblast stencil. This is going to need to be manually matched, but you can use the Spacerite Modified Roman Handcut font as a starting point, or if you’d like you can use the MLC Inscription Matching Service.
MLCKeymasterHi Jill, yes I am almost certain this is Helvetica Med Comp Acct AK Rev B in Gerber, which is based on “Helvetica Inserat” but much thinner.
