The MLC has just completed a version of the ScotchKut Modified Roman Heavy Bar, which has been shortened simply to “Heavy Bar” in its filename. Sometimes confused with the ScotchKut Raised Modified Roman (also recently released by the MLC) due to their similarity in color, the Heavy Bar letters are only slightly bolder than the regular ScotchKut Modified Roman. Originally the letters had a small H.B. extruding from their surface, but it was removed when SKS was purchased by 3M and renamed to ScotchKut in 1973–making it more difficult to identify.

The MLC Spacerite Vermarco has been updated with alternates for ‘A’ and ‘E’. Though rare, they have been seen from time to time in the cemetery, and a set of metal letters were sent to the MLC which contained both versions. Log in to download the updated version.
